One tool that makes this super handy is the conversion tracking code in ScholarshipOwl for Business. With the tracking code, you can see the precise results of your scholarships - how many applicants actually went to your site and converted - made a purchase, subscribed, left their contacts, and more.

Today, we’ll show you how to set up the conversion tracking code on your website.

What does a conversion tracking code do?

Let’s say that you’re Udemy and you’re running a scholarship. Some students (or their parents, or anyone else looking at the scholarship page) will end up on Udemy and purchasing a course. At the end of each purchase, e.g. at the checkout page, Udemy installs a conversion tracking code.

Every time someone makes a purchase after applying for your scholarship, your conversion tracking code will fire up. That way, you immediately know how many conversions (sales, signups, or something else) your scholarships are driving.

The important distinction here is that you can only track conversions from people who actually completed the application process. If they just viewed your scholarship without applying, you won’t be able to track the conversion.

How to install a conversion tracking code

First, head to your ScholarshipOwl for Business Analytics section and click on Conversion. Once you do that, you’ll get something like this on your screen:

The code that you get in the window on the right is the code that you’ll have to install. Once you copied it, paste it to the website and page you want to track, such as the Udemy example above. Note that you cannot define different goals with one tracking code in ScholarshipOwl for Business. One page = one code.

Once the code is installed, you’ll be able to monitor your conversions from the ScholarshipOwl for Business dashboard.

Just head to the Conversion tab and you’ll be able to see how your scholarship is performing over time and what kind of numbers you’re working with.
